cinematography, lighting, motion capture, editing
I got hired by Warhorse Studios to work on cutscenes in June 2023, at a fairly advanced stage of production of KCD2. At that point, all the cutscenes had already been written, storyboarded, recorded and edited. I was granted ownership over some 8% of all of the game's cutscenes and tasked with the remaining work, which consisted mostly of cinematography, lighting, and optimisation throughout several iterations, as well as communicating with other departments, especially animators, audio designers and scripters. It was my duty to ensure that my cutscenes were ready for release, bug-free and up to the game's AAA standards. On the DLCs, I was part of the team from the start, which allowed me to be involved in conceptualising, storyboarding, motion capture prepping and directing, and editing, on top of the work I was already familiar with.
The cutscenes I had ownership over included (but were not limited to):
The Nebakov March (For Victory!)
The Audience with Jobst (The Sword and the Quill)
The Quarrel with Vavak (Via Argentum)
Enemies Scheming at Maleshov (Taking French Leave)
Leaving Maleshov / Capon Saved (Taking French Leave)
Breaking Into the Italian Court (The Italian Job)
The Feast at Suchdol / Zizka Loses an Eye (post-credit scene)
Henry's Execution by Hanging (crime scene)
Meeting the Painter (A Sketchy Situation)
Monastery Healed (Sedletz Monastery final scene - good ending)
